Why should someone try ultracycling for the first time?

I am unsure of the rubicon someone needs to cross to graduate to ultra cycling. That said, find ways to continuously challenge yourself or simply get involved as a crew member or race volunteer. It's a tremendous community and one that has led to a number of close friendships.

Why do you compete in ultracycling?

To see just how far I can go and where that challenge ultimately takes me. There are always new and exciting adventures just around the corner.

What is the single best lesson you have learned from ultracycling?

Difficult to isolate one single lesson. Ultracycling is about the accumulation of many, many lessons. Some large, some small. Regardless, that cumulative experience adds up and when you think you have it all figured out, you'll get humbled.

I'm an ultra-randonneur, adventure cyclist in Chicago, a member of Paniagua Racing and a brand ambassador for Infinit Nutrition.

Racing competitively since 2018, I've accumulated a number of podium finishes at NCOM 1000, Natchez 444 and Virtual Race Across the West. However, my most memorable experience was the 2019 edition of Paris-Brest-Paris. I finished as the fastest American and joined the Charly Miller Society with a 52 hour, 44 minute time on no sleep traversing the French countryside.
